Krewe of Tradition

The Krewe of Tradition is a self-governed, nonprofit organization based in Houma, LA that aims to have a positive impact on both the lives of its members and Terrebonne Parish through the promotion and revival of masquerading on Mardi Gras Day.

The Krewe of Tradition fosters the art of masquerade by providing an opportunity to showcase costumes in an annual Mardi Gras Day promenade, hosting a costume contest at the end of the annual promenade, and awarding the contestants with the most creative costumes.

In addition to increasing the practice of masquerading, the Krewe of Tradition seeks also to promote ecologically conscientious patronage by handing out safe “throw” during our annual promenade.
