Parade & Costume Contest

Join us in our 6th annual Mardi Gras Day festivities!

March 5th, 2019

3:00 p.m. Parade lines up at at South LA Feed Store (7591 W Main St. Houma, LA)
3:30 p.m. Promenade down Main Street
4:00 p.m. Costume Contest in front of Le Petit Theater (7829 Main St.)

The Krewe of Tradition organizes a hand-made foot parade that is a showcase for visual and performance artists in Houma, LA and our beloved Mardi Gras guests.

We encourage all participants to come in costume & bring eco-friendly “throws” to hand out during this walking parade.  Krewe of Tradition members create a special pecan throw to share with lucky parade-goers! We protest harmful imported throws by making our own, locally.

Costume Contest:

Handmade costumes are encouraged! Prizes include King & Queen of Tradition, King & Queen of Non-Tradition, Duke & Maid of Tradition and Group Awards

ALL ages welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult. No entry fee to participate!

This map takes you to the parking lot behind Le Petit Theater, where the the foot parade route ends and the location of costume contest. It’s a good idea to park here or down Wilson Ave. From there you cross the bayou via pedestrian bridge located in the parking lot. This will take you out to main street where you’ll take a ride. Walk up Main for a few minutes until you see South LA Feed and Seed on your right. That’s the line up for the foot parade.
