Parade & COSTUME CONTEST

Parade – March 2, 2025

Krewe of Tradition members create special pecan throws and other handmade goods to share with lucky parade-goers! Members are allowed to distribute 13 pecans each to parade bystanders. Throws are to be small batch, homemade, sustainable, reusable, and/or edible. All parade participants must be in costume. If you do not have a costume you can arrange to borrow something from the krewe’s costume closet.

We lineup at 1:00 PM at Root to Rise on Barrow Street. We began marching our route through the downtown historic of Houma to Le Petit Theatre anytime after 1:30 PM approximately. We aren’t in complete control of start time so come at 1:00 PM in order to be ready and have fun! Our contest costume is held after our march is completed at Le Petit Theatre.

Costume Contest:

Our costume contest on parade day decides the following year’s Royal Court. Royal Contest winners are awarded King & Queen of Tradition, Duke & Maid of Tradition, Paiges of Tradition, Best Pet and Group Award. Sometimes a dance off is even involved!

Membership is not required to participate in events but is encouraged and appreciated.
